As part of our ‘It’s a Disaster’ topic, children made model volcanoes in groups, using chicken wire, papier mache and their creativity.
Once painted, we carried out a chemical experiment by mixing bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar. The outcome was lots of erupting volcanoes.
Active learning and pupil engagement was evident in abundance.
